Diesel Petrol Prices in Pakistan
Petrol costs Rs. 382.02 per litre in Pakistan today, High-speed diesel costs Rs. 389.80 per litre. Both rates rose by less than one rupee after the big cuts announced earlier this week.

The graph shows two stories. Petrol came down step by step, from Rs. 398.30 on 10 October to Rs. 382.02 today. Diesel stayed flat near Rs. 397 for a week and then dropped in one step on 20 October.
What Happened on 21 October?
On Monday, 19 October, the government cut petrol by Rs. 5.16 and diesel by Rs. 7.69 per litre. The new rates applied from Tuesday, 20 October, as Dawn reported.
Today, petrol went up by Rs. 0.88 and diesel by Rs. 0.53. The rise is small compared with the cuts, so most of the relief is still there. The government has also announced help for some vehicle owners. Read about it in our petrol subsidy scheme guide.

Diesel costs Rs. 7.78 more per litre than petrol today. On 20 October, the gap was Rs. 8.13.

Since 10 October, petrol is down Rs. 16.28 per litre and diesel is down Rs. 6.44 per litre.
2026 So Far: Diesel Petrol Prices in Pakistan
Fuel prices rose sharply after the war between the US and Iran began on 28 February 2026. Dawn reports that diesel went from about Rs. 281 per litre to a peak of Rs. 520.35 on 3 April. Petrol went from about Rs. 266 in the first week of March to a peak of Rs. 458.41 on 3 April.
Today, petrol is Rs. 76.39 below its peak and diesel is Rs. 130.55 below its peak. Both are still higher than before the rise, by about Rs. 116 for petrol and Rs. 109 for diesel.
How Much Tax Do You Pay on Each Litre?
The government charges about Rs. 114 per litre in taxes and duties on petrol and about Rs. 100 per litre on diesel, according to Dawn. That is roughly 30 percent of today’s petrol price and 26 percent of today’s diesel price.
The rest covers the cost of oil, shipping, and the margins of oil companies and dealers. The dollar rate also matters, because Pakistan buys most of its fuel from other countries.

Some websites list different numbers for LDO, kerosene, Octane, and LPG. When in doubt, trust the PSO price page.
Is the Price the Same in Every City?
Petrol and diesel have one countrywide ceiling price. So the rate should be the same in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, and other cities. A few pumps may charge a little more. If a price looks too high, ask the station for the notified rate.
Prices Are Fixed Daily: How to Check the Right Rate
On 17 July, the Petroleum Minister announced that fuel prices would be fixed every day because of changes in the world market. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) now sets the rates daily. The latest cut was announced on Monday for use on Tuesday, so new rates usually come out a day before they apply.
